Frequently asked questions
How do I change the app language?
Open Settings in BoardClock, tap Language, then choose System, English, or 한국어. The change applies throughout the app immediately.
My match history disappeared. What should I do?
Make sure you are signed in to iCloud. Match history is stored in your private iCloud database, so it may be hidden while you are signed out and return after you sign in again. Allow a little time for iCloud to finish syncing after a reinstall or device change.
Why is there a gray dot next to a player name?
A gray dot means that the result was recorded under a typed name without a registered player profile. BoardClock links older records automatically when there is one clear profile with the same name.
If more than one profile has the same name, open the prompt to Review Profiles and choose the profile to keep. Merging combines the stats and cannot be undone, but the underlying match records remain intact.
What are Fischer and byoyomi timing?
Fischer timing adds a set amount of time after each completed turn. Byoyomi gives a player one or more fixed overtime periods after their main time runs out. Tap the ⓘ button on the Time Rules card in the app for an illustrated guide.
What happens when a player runs out of time?
The player loses on time, but they may rejoin if a majority of the other players agrees. Play resumes with the next player.
